Kirk Franklin is leading the way in urban contemporary gospel music! He emerged in the 90s and rose to fame in the Texas-based choir called the Family. Their platinum-selling debut, Kirk Franklin & the Family, dropped in 1993 and proved not only to be a gospel smash hit, but topped the charts in the R&B and pop genre too!
